Oh, priceless. I too assumed you were a disgruntled provider when reading that ad.

This is not *entirely* your fault. You are only guilty of ignorance. It wasn’t just the use of the word “cheap” either. When you said “Cheapest bidder wins!” you were saying that price was your only concern, that the service does not have any real value to you, and that, yes, you were going to accept a $10 bid.

You might not have known that, but it was the reality of your words. Don’t list a single condition if it is not truly your only consideration.

Aww- Look buddy, I’m sorry that my offering to do your logo for free hurt your feelings, you obviously took it very personally and I apologize for denting your ego a bit. As you can see from the numerous angry responses you received on Ifreelance, it’s not all about you as it was out of proportion. Unfortunately for you, you got a lot of the flak from disgruntled designers who Ifreelance has misled and misrepresented. Because people can place a project free of charge, there are many, many time wasters or ones that want to take advantage of designers in places like India who will do work for 5 dollars per brief. I understand that bidders read your ‘ cheapest bid wins’ out of context and that you didn’t really deserve to be called scum for it by some people -I’m sure that being the intelligent guy you are, you can relate to the frustration if not excuse it.
I would appreciate you ‘detagging’ my name to your blog as what you are doing is a little spiteful, misleading and defamation of character as ‘Stay Well Clear’ and my name comes up when searched for. I am a very ethical and hard working designer and just because I responded to your bid doesn’t give you the right to slander my name which I have worked hard to earn.

Games are my life. I work in the game industry, at Pivotal games, as an artist making ps3 and 36o games. uVme is different from my day job but I have been with uVme from the start very start; Evolution day!
I also have a blog for uVme and am welcoming anyone who wishes to contribute to it. It is going to be a lot of fun and very successful for those involved early on!

I read the post, thinking you were going to be on the service provider end, as your advice, “Stay Well Clear” is relevant *only* in light of clowns like yourself who post asinine adverts for designers who, let’s face it, you must think of as low-rent lackey nobodies whose sole purpose for existing is to get your lousy point across for minimum dosh so that you yourself can sell whatever important thing it is you’re selling at scandalous markup. And then you are frighteningly clueless as to why this would be unnacceptable to any self-respecting individual with more than two brain cells. Tell you what. I need to consult your little company - I’d consult myself if I could - but I’m going to need several different consultations from you - for the price of about twenty cups of coffee. As a matter of fact, why don’t I just pay you in coffee. Yes. Now, I know you’re the “expert” here but I’m just going to need to tweak your advice until it is unrecognizable to you, just so I feel satisfied that I could have done it all on my own, if I’d only gone to Innovation Consultancy school. Oh, by the way, I’ve made this offer to a few of your pals and the job will actually go to the one who comes crawling to me out of sheer desperation first. For the least amount of coffee. So how’s that all sound?
What I’m trying to convey here is that it’s people like you who make ifreelance, and conceivably the entire world, a crock of shite. I hope that unmuddies your waters.

Oh yeah I agree. I got involved with uVme in Nov. 2007. I was all amped up. The upline really had me convinced I had found the opportunity of a lifetime. A few days before the “launch” date in January, my gut instincts told me to pull out and not send in the $197. I couldn’t advocate to the people in my downline to spend that kind of money on something I was now getting a bad vibe on and I pulled them too. My upline was heated. Tried to convince me I was foolish. So look at uVme now. Its a total flop!!! Follow your gut man. It’s your ass it’s looking after!!!
